I’m Dan, the jeweller and designer behind RookFire, based in Dorset, England.
My work begins with a shape, a story or a detail that stays with me. It might be the worn relief of an ancient coin, the structure of something growing, or the way light catches a carved surface. Those starting points become jewellery designed to feel distinctive in the hand and on the body.
Gold is at the heart of the collection. I’m drawn to its warmth, weight and the contrast between a textured surface and a polished edge. Diamonds, pearls and other gemstones bring light, colour and character to the designs.
From idea to finished piece
My practice brings together hand carving, casting, fabrication, stone setting and digital design. I choose the techniques that best serve each piece, working with specialist casting and assay services where needed, and personally refining and finishing my jewellery.
I care about the details you notice over time: the balance of a pendant, the feel of a ring, the depth of a surface and the way a piece settles into everyday wear.
Ancient stories, new forms
The ancient coin collection explores images that have travelled through centuries. Athena’s owl, the Wolf Mother of Rome and the face of Arethusa carry associations with wisdom, protection and the natural world.
Alongside these pieces, I’m developing more sculptural work shaped by organic structures, geometry and imagined futures. RookFire is a place for both historical references and new ideas to take form in gold.

Our optional quilted keepsake bags are designed by me and handmade in house. Purchased alongside your jewellery, they complete a gift presentation that arrives ready to give.
