I just remember feeling totally overwhelmed, completely disconnected with myself, and in desperate need of some kind of self-expression. I watched so many women around me embody that wild artistic freedom while juggling motherhood at the same time and I deeply wanted that too.

I grew up dabbling in all sorts of different crafts, but it was macrame that ultimately stole my heart. After a year of learning the ropes (pun intended), I started Rooted In My Truths. It was a way to share my art with a world that I felt I didn't belong. I tend to make lots of sparkly fairytale kind of art as a way to escape and also, my art tends to reflect much of what I'm feeling at that particular time.

To my surprise, my dreamy art became relatable to so many of the people who interacted with it. They shared that it speaks to their own inner truths. Many have been inspired to pick up a new craft or rekindle the love they once had for another artform.

I believe we all have a spark... a hidden gem. A secret treasure trove of creativity needing to be channeled. We all have those special gifts buried deep down within our hearts.
