Today's world seems to move much faster than the one in which I grew up, but the simple pleasures I enjoyed then still appeal to me now. The sight of wildflowers swaying in a summer's breeze, the smell of fresh bread baking, the comforting warmth of a favorite quilt. These are just a few of the things that inspire me.

Of course, life does get busy and hectic. But when I watch the delight on my sweet daughter's face as she twirls and whirls about in one of the special nightgowns or dresses I've made her, I'm reminded to slow down and savor the moment right in front of me. She tells me she feels like a princess, and my heart swoons with joy. I design and create my items with this in mind, the simple innocence and wonderment of childhood. This is another reason that adoption is so close to my heart- shouldn't every child experience moments of joy and wonder in their daily life?

Whether I'm creating something special for one of my children or for one of my customers, I take my work seriously and am meticulous about the final product.
