Absolutely beautiful! Very well made fixtures that will without a doubt make the room standout. It's obvious they've really been crafted with care. If you're on the fence about lighting fixtures, let me be that sign you were looking for- get it! We got two for our last bathroom of the house and had our fingers crossed the pictures displayed would do the actual sconces justice. The actual sconces look even more incredible than expected! The marble is gorgeous from all angles and the sconce itself is seamless. The owner worked hard to meet our tight schedule to get the sconces in, responded very fast, and was incredibly nice. 10/10! They look beautiful!

About

Rough Luck Studio

Hi there,

My name is Matthew Alford, and I own and operate Rough Luck Studio. We are a tiny lighting studio in Long Island City, Queens.

The goal of my studio is to bridge the gap between manufacturer and consumer. Rough Luck does not wholesale - we only sell directly to our clients (HELLO customization!). With a passion for real materials (no cheap finishes here), our designs are clean, elegant, happy, and honest.

Thanks so much for checking us out. Please don't hesitate to shoot us a message with any questions. Or just to say hey, that's cool too :)

Have a good one,

Matt

Frequently asked questions

Care instructions

As with life, be gentle. Don't use any harsh chemicals. If left untouched, brass will darken and develop a patina with age. If you feel the need to brighten your brass to it's original hue, you can use a gentle metal polish. I recommend a product called Brasso, which can be found at your local hardware store.

I have placed an order, when will it ship?

I work hard to keep the lead-times listed on Etsy as up to date as possible. You can find these at the top of the "shipping and policies" tab. Unless you are otherwise notified, your order will ship within the listed timeline.

If you are in need of a rush order, please send me a message before placing your order :)

Can I customize this fixture?

YES! Absolutely. Common customizations include changing the cord color, the switch mechanism, or dimensions. Please shoot me a message with any customization requests prior to placing your order.

Talk to me about your brass

Well, okay! My fixtures are made form solid brass brass that is not lacquered. The brass is polished by hand, and then covered in a thin layer of artisanal microcrystalline wax (Theres a $10 word for ya). This leaves the fixture with a deep, matte luster.

I am a blogger, can you send me a free product in exchange for promotion?

Thank you so much for showing me some love! Please blog about my studio - it makes me feel so good!! Buuuut, unfortunately I cannot offer free product in exchange.

Can I have my order expedited?

Sometimes. Rush production is sometimes available for an additional 20%. If you are interested in having your items expedited, please send me a message before placing an order :)
