Frequently asked questions
Care instructions
I am often asked if our mittens are really washable. The short answer is YES! Your mittens are completely machine washable and dryable. Expect a little bit of stretch as you wear them, and then a little bit of tightening when you wash them.
Our mittens are made from 80-100% wool sweaters that have been washed and dried in hot temperatures to "felt" the wool. Felting the wool closes up the air holes between the fibers so the cold air can not get in. Then, the mittens are cut out and sewn together. Feel free to wash and dry these mittens along with your regular laundry without fear of them shrinking. You will be thrilled with the ease of cleaning and the style of my wool mittens.
What if I don't like them, are they returnable?
I haven't ever had anyone return anything, but I really want you to love your purchase. ❤️ So if you don't, please message me and we will work out a refund or exchange.
Where do you source your materials?
The short answer? All the materials I use are pre-loved, cast off fabrics that I have found in the second-hand market. I spend a lot of time combing the thrift stores. I only use materials that are otherwise overlooked and will perhaps end up in landfills! I feel good about recreating these beautiful unloved fabrics into useful and beautiful items for you to love!
