Ruby + Revolver.
Hey there...I’m Jessie of Ruby and Revolver, a one woman show located in the Bitterroot gallery, Montana. I’ve always been draw to working with my hands...to creating. I was exposed to metalwork at an early age thanks to my pop, a welder who moonlighted as a gunsmith. Although I never learned directly from him, I think that exposure helped plant the seed and instill a deep appreciate for the process. I’ve never gone to school or even taken a class for metal work, I’ve just toiled away, read books, and messed up a lot. Im still a fledgling metal worker...but its seems that some crafts are hereditary, and maybe metal is in the blood. I began this journey by scouring local pawn shops and collecting hand me downs, slowly acquiring the necessary tools of the trade long before I had the mastery/skills to put them to use. My tools are basic, the same tools used by metalsmiths past. My belief is that you can do more with less, by embracing traditional skills with work steeped in austerity. Ruby and Revolver is deeply influenced by Montana, the natural world, and by the wild west. My medium of choice is a mix of reclaimed materials, metal, leather and stone. I hope that the jewelry I create is unmistakably my own, purposefully raw, lasting, and filled with heart and soul.
