Rugrat Design.... What's it all about??
What's my story? The Rügrat Design story? The history of this little dream turned reality?
In a nutshell...I like to be creative and having an outlet to share that creativity is incredibly rewarding and enjoyable for me. Sewing has been a lifelong hobby - one I originally enjoyed with my mother and sister growing up. When I became a mom I struggled to find a bedding set I liked for our daughter - so I made it. Then I started making some outfits for her, for her friends, and as gifts. With encouragement from friends and family, who told me often "you could sell those things!" I took a chance and sure enough, they were right. Aside from Rügrat, I'm a wife, mom, sister, friend and as I joke "mommy-preneur." I'm constantly thinking of things I could (or want to) do. Let's just say I don't sit still very well!
Rügrat Design officially "launched" in February of 2010. Since then, I have been so thankful for the continuous support I've received from my friends and family, as well as newcomers, who have quickly become a support for my business. It's so rewarding to create something and to have others appreciate it as much as I enjoyed making it.
The goal of Rügrat Design is to create clothing and accessories that are unique, stylish, beautiful, quality, and creative as well as budget-conscious. Most of all these things need to be practical! I'm a mom of two energetic kids. I know that if it's not comfortable, practical, and liked by the kids - it will hang in their closet unworn until they outgrow it. I strive to select fabrics that are soft and comfortable for children as well as stylish in their design and colors to create styles that are unique for your Rügrats. I am continually adding items to the product line which currently includes children's clothing, accessories, baby gifts, items for mothers, and more!
Rügrat Design is a one woman shop - me! All items are personally sewn and created with care in my home studio. Maybe someday I'll have a shop (a daydream I like to entertain sometimes) but for now, I work from my home studio which allows me to be with my kids, as they are my inspiraton! Until my retail shop dream becomes a reality, I'll continue to do as I have since I started in 2010.....treating every customer like they were a part of our family. Other companies and shops may offer similar products, but I'm am thrilled to have the opportunity to provide a personal touch that comes from working one on one with each client and creating each Rügrat Design product with love, attention to detail, and your Rügrat in mind. I hope you find the same to be true!
