Rustic Loom celebrates the textile traditions of cultures around the world.

Rustic Loom celebrates the textile traditions of cultures around the world. Our purpose is to make well designed, colorful, globally inspired and ethically sourced clothing and housewares easily accessible for everyday use. We team with non-profit organizations and small workshops in emerging regions to pay fair wages and aim to foster a sustainable livelihood for the artisans who make our collection. In our Brooklyn studio, we design and curate fashion, textiles, and home products utilizing traditional textile techniques, reinterpreted with a modern flair

    Owner, Designer, Designer/ Collaborator

    Rebecca Miller is the founder of Rustic Loom. Since studying textiles at RISD and UIAH in Helsinki, she has continued to learn, curate, and design textiles inspired by her travels around the world.

Production partners

  • Block Printer

    India

    I work with Bagru Textiles, a cooperative of textile printers in Bagru, India. Vijendra is a master printer to helps me execute my designs and he then shares the printing of yardage with other printers in the cooperative.

  • Batik artisan

    Winneba, Ghana

    Mr Edmunson is a batik artisan in Ghana. He has been making batik fabrics for years, and formerly worked for a textile printing mill in Tema, Ghana. He works with his wife who assists him in his backyard.

  • Non Profit Womens Organization of Seamstresses

    Mumbai, India

    Rupali, founder of the non- profit organization helps me execute my own ikat designs to be woven in India, and helps me to select existing patterns from the weaver. Rupali employs disadvantaged women in Mumbai to sew the ikat fabric into products.

  • Meek, Seamstress

    Winneba, Ghana

    I met Meek in 1998 when I lived in Ghana after college. Meek sews dresses for local Ghanaians. Meek sewed dresses for me in 1998, and on occasion when I visited Ghana. In 2012, I worked closely with Meek on a trip to Ghana to sew items.

  • Tailor

    Brooklyn, NY

    Kenny is a tailor and runs a workshop in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Kenny's workshop is sewing my new collection of linen batiks from Ghana. I cut the fabrics myself, and bring cut pieces to Kenny to sew.

Returns and exchanges
If you are unhappy with your order for any reason please contact us within 5 working days of receiving your package. We will do our best to resolve the problem quickly. Refunds and exchanges are considered on a case-by-case basis.

All items must be returned in new condition and shipped to: Rustic Loom, 13 42nd St Fl 5, Brooklyn, NY 11232.

Custom and sale items are final sale.
Payment
Instant Transfers, Credit Cards and E-checks via PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to use this system, and PayPal securely accepts all major credit cards.

Payment must be made in full and have cleared before the item is shipped. If you are having any issues with Payment please do not hesitate to contact me and I will assist you in anyway that I can.

Customers in United States can pay with a direct bank transfer if they wish, please contact me directly if you want to use this method.

**Note: Any custom fees & duties are the responsibility of the buyer. Please be aware of the rules & regulations of your home country.
Shipping
Orders are shipped within 2-3 business days of payment and are shipped to the address specified in your Etsy account.
If your order is a gift going directly to the recipient, we can include a personal message card from you and gift wrap for no extra charge. If you would like this service please let me know what you would like me to write (to fit on a postcard) in the "Note to Rustic Loom” during checkout.
Items are shipped in an eco friendly poly mailer made of recycled material.

All orders are shipped with USPS mail, with exception of express upgrade (domestic and international).

Rustic Loom is located in Brooklyn, NY.

Shipping within the east coast normally takes 2-3 working days.
Packages shipped to USA normally take 5-8 working days.
Shipping to Europe normally take around 2 weeks to arrive, however some have been delayed as long as 10 weeks. This does not happen often, but it can happen.
Shipping to the rest of the world takes approximately 1-2 weeks, although customs can occasionally delay packages further.

Because of the low shipping costs, orders are not insured or traceable. If you do not receive your order in a reasonable amount of time, please contact me and I will discuss it with you. If it has been more than 4 weeks (8 weeks internationally) since your order shipped, it's likely that I will re-send it.

If you prefer to have your package insured against loss or damage and traceable, please contact me and request upgraded shipping and we will send you a price quote and then a PayPal invoice for the difference.
