Life is hectic. Life is crazy. Sometimes you just want to slow down, breathe deep and appreciate the journey.

For me, creating pottery began with the journey of making mugs; the journey of a person who had a very real need to begin my day with something extraordinary to drink my often (not-so-extraordinary) home-brewed coffee from. I found that wrapping my hands around a warm, beautiful piece of pottery made my sub-par coffee taste better, my morning mood a whole lot brighter and made the thought of facing my hectic and crazy day just a little easier to swallow.

I eventually graduated from making mugs to making a variety of earthenware pieces that people could use and love on a daily basis. I'm continually working on new glazes and shapes but in the back of my mind the questions always remains the same:
"Does this piece make me happy?"
"Will this piece speak to the heart of its owner?"

So go ahead, sip slowly, breathe deeply and remember...the things you hold in your hand should be just as beautiful as the life you create for yourself!
