How One Wedding Sparked Rustic Wood Slices
Our brand started with a single wedding — and an unexpected reaction.
When my sister got married, my dad and I cut wood slices by hand for the tables. It wasn’t part of a business plan. We just wanted something simple and natural that didn’t feel disposable or overly styled.
What surprised us was how people reacted to them. Guests kept asking about the wood slices—where they came from, who made them, and if they could take theirs home. That stuck with us, because it wasn’t the kind of thing you expect people to notice. It was just a piece of real wood doing its job.
After that experience, we started paying attention to how often people needed a simple, neutral base for décor and couldn’t easily find one that felt right. So we kept making them. We didn’t try to turn them into something they weren’t. We focused on using real pine, cutting them cleanly, and letting the natural grain and character show.
Ten years and over four million wood slices later, that approach hasn’t changed. What began as a small, hands-on project grew steadily as more people found uses for them—weddings, showers, family gatherings, and events of all kinds. Along the way, we learned how important consistency and reliability are when something is being used for meaningful moments.
Even now, we still think about the same things we did at the beginning: how the slices will look on the table, how they’ll feel in someone’s hands, and making sure they arrive ready to use without any extra work. Some customers order a few for a small celebration, others order many for large events, but the goal is always the same—to make something simple that works exactly as expected.
We’re grateful that something so straightforward has become part of so many different stories. Thank you for being here, and for trusting us with a small but important part of your décor.
