A Hug in a Box!
Howdy y’all! My name is Heather Talley, owner of Rustic Zebra Boutique. A few short years ago I started a small gift box and candle company in my home office down in central Texas. As a career graphic designer I have always had an artistic attention to detail. This has always been my passion, but I felt that I needed something new to keep me busy as my two sons were quickly growing up and headed to college and high school. This couldn’t just be something to keep me busy, though, as making others smile and their hearts warm was a big influence over my decision. I am someone who truly enjoys homemade crafts, where hard work, passion, and love is truly expressed. That is why I focussed on making pre-made gift boxes for my customers to purchase and send to their loved ones, business colleagues, customers, friends, college students, and anyone else that could use a smile with a ribbon tied around it. Over these few years I have learned so much about doing business online, especially through the virtual world of COVID-19. Better than that, I learned that working on my passion not only provided people an easy way to give gifts and thank you’s to others, but it brought people closer in times where closeness and interaction was a commodity. It is an old fashioned way to spread joy and love in a physical sense. Sometimes, all people need is that little gift box with daily essentials that are custom picked out just for them by those who care about them. I never thought that my little business would be such a success and reach so many people all over the country, even out of the country. I can honestly say my day gets brighter each and every day as my loyal customers continue to support me and my dream. What warms my heart the most, is that all my work pays off every time I hear that someone else’s day got brighter as well. This is my business, the one that spreads joy, boxed and stuffed with love and attention to detail. It’s a hug in a box!
