Hi! I'm Ruth Bohn, an artist and designer based in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. I studied Textile Design at the Rhode Island School of Design, and my creative practice is rooted in fiber art. I work with natural, recycled, and found materials—spinning yarn by hand, stitching, and building tactile, narrative pieces that reflect a deep love for texture, rhythm, and the quiet beauty of everyday life.

My fascination with textiles started in high school, when I became curious about alpacas and cold-called every local ranch I could find. That led to a six-year job at Birdsong Ranch Alpacas, where I cleaned, carded, and spun fiber—a hands-on experience that sparked the path I’m still on today.

Alongside my larger fiber-based works, I keep a daily floral sketch practice. These simple, hand-drawn studies—often of pansies and seasonal blooms—are a way for me to slow down and stay connected to the natural world. Drawing is a quiet, meditative ritual that complements my fiber work and often inspires new ideas. Whether I’m working with yarn or pencil, I’m always exploring themes of memory, connection, and the poetry of the everyday.
