STARHAVEN

*STARHAVEN* - Original artworks by Carolly Hauksdottir

Oakland, California

Announcement    I specialize in works of imagination... fantasy, science fiction, and the realms of magic and mystery... making them real and sharing them with others.

Horrible heat! However, it is good for pouring resin that dries with glassy clarity. Several dozen new pieces await naming and photography.

New pieces for a new year! I will be adding them as they get photographed and written up.

Hauksdottir.com, my own site, has been completely reorganized and restructured. The Gallery sections contain a lot of my work in various media, and there will be more once I can afford to retrieve the data from a belly-up hard drive: 10 years of photographs, all of my Photoshop projects, various stories and poems. There will be sections for workshops and tutorials in the near future. Please drop by and comment.

FREE Gift Boxes!!! I've had silver embossed (really handsome) gift boxes for a few weeks, and was waiting for the printer. The color was not right, so I had the cards and labels reprinted. It still isn't right, but it is pretty, and I have to go with it for now. Jewelry will be tucked into silver gift boxes and tied with ribbon. I also have organza bags in multiple colors, so if you'd prefer that, just let me know.

Well, I've been working with the stampings: vintage as well as new strikes from antique dies. The level of detail in those century-old dies is simply incredible... gorgeous! I have another batch of necklaces ready for photography, and it might be the best lot yet. (Only 2 developed air bubbles. Yippee!) Even the ones without metalwork are handsome. Let me know what you think.

Coming soon! More pretties! I've just photographed another batch and will be listing them. Also, I've been collecting some special vintage cabochons and metal stampings to be incorporated into the designs... really excited about the possibilities.

New direction: OOAK jewelry!

I've spent more than a year experimenting with new special effects paints, and lately struggling with 2-part epoxy resin after glazes didn't work. It has been quite the learning process. However, I'm really quite excited by how *nice* some of these pieces are. Each of them is unique, one of a kind and special... although some are more special than others. ;) (OK, so I really like the one I'm wearing as I type this. blush)

After being selected into a juried art show, I pulled several originals from the storage unit, created digital prints of more recent work, and made many trips to the frame shop. More than a dozen of the works from that show are available here on Etsy.

Folks who have seen my prints in the dealer's room at science fiction conventions, please be patient. I'll retrieve those prints when I have a new home. Meanwhile, this is a rare opportunity to purchase the originals, as well as many unique (OOAK) artworks.

The origami sculptures on gemstones will be available again when I can access their boxes. (I have fancy papers, but the minerals are all packed up.)

Art under glass, especially the larger pieces, can be local pick-up/delivery (local being San Francisco area, CA).

I have opened a second shop here on Etsy.

EmporiaeNovae hosts digital downloads. The main emphasis is on collage sheets suitable for jewelry, scrapbooking, stickers, and such. There is an interesting selection of gift boxes, bookmarks, and mini notecards. I plan to also carry paper dolls, coloring pages, and iron-on transfer designs. Affordable art for the DIYer.

If you like my work, please come visit! Comments and suggestions are very welcome.
