What is SuperTanya?
SuperTanya is a handmade knitwear studio founded and led by designer Tanya Georgieva in Bulgaria, Europe. We specialize in 100% hand-knitted clothing, accessories and selected handmade home decor, combining original design, premium yarns and traditional craftsmanship.
How did SuperTanya begin?
Knitting has been part of Tanya's life for as long as she can remember. It is a traditional skill in her family: her mother, aunt and both grandmothers were accomplished knitters. Tanya grew up surrounded by yarn, knitting needles and handmade garments, and her earliest attempts at knitting actually predate her earliest memories. For her, knitting never felt like something she learned — it felt almost innate.
From an early age, knitting became Tanya's first, favorite and lifelong creative passion. She used her skills to create unique handmade gifts for family and friends.
In 2010, Tanya decided to share her creations with the wider world. Her first products were luxurious, fluffy hand-knitted mohair sweaters. The response was so strong that one person could not meet the demand. A single hand-knitted sweater can take 3–5 days or more to complete.
This is how the SuperTanya knitting dream team was born. Tanya's mother and aunt became the first members of the team, transforming a personal passion into a growing family handmade business. As the collection expanded, so did customer demand and the team. Today, SuperTanya remains rooted in the concept of a family business, with every piece continuing to be made by hand in Bulgaria.
Who designs SuperTanya knitwear?
Tanya Georgieva is the designer behind SuperTanya. She develops original designs, unusual constructions and new hand-knitting techniques together with her experienced knitting team.
Where is SuperTanya knitwear made?
Every SuperTanya garment is designed and hand knitted in Bulgaria. Our production is handled in-house, allowing us to control yarn selection, construction, knitting techniques, finishing and quality.
Is SuperTanya knitwear really handmade?
Yes. SuperTanya knitwear is 100% handmade and hand knitted, rather than mass-produced or machine-made. Each garment is individually created by experienced knitters using traditional techniques and premium yarns.
What type of knitwear does SuperTanya make?
Our collection includes mohair and wool sweaters, alpaca and cashmere knitwear, cardigans, jackets, dresses, coats, ponchos, skirts, pants, shawls, scarves, hats, mittens, gloves, socks and leg warmers, as well as blankets and selected handmade home decor.
What materials does SuperTanya use?
We work with premium natural-fiber yarns including mohair, wool, alpaca, cashmere, merino wool, angora, cotton and silk. Selected designs may also use OEKO-TEX® certified yarns, depending on availability.

Our work includes Icelandic and Nordic-inspired knitting, cable knit, Aran-inspired patterns, chunky knit, oversized, fuzzy and fluffy knitwear, textured stitches and contemporary designs.
Can I order a custom knitted garment?
Yes. Custom knitting is an important part of SuperTanya. Customers can provide their own idea, reference or design, request modifications to an existing garment, or discuss a completely new creation. Selected garments can also be made according to individual measurements.
Does SuperTanya offer ready-to-ship and made-to-order knitwear?
