A boat dream named Sanditoes
My mother Sandi was a wife, a mother and an inspiration.
My father absolutely idolized her throughout their marriage of 37 years. When I was a child of 2ish my Dad decided after one to many times of watching the Swiss Family Robinson that he was going to buy a sail boat so that one day we could sail around the world. In my head this fantasy always ended badly. But my mother, the ever supportive wife, never stood in the way of my Dad's dream. He purchased a 55 foot sailboat and named it Sanditoes after the girl of his dreams.
By the time I was 8 we were living full-time on our fixer-upper of a ship. My mom was hard at work homeschooling my older brother an myself. As I am now a mother, I now reflect in awe at what she was able to accomplish in our odd life and crazy little home. Throughout my home schooling my mother always encouraged a love for art and imagination. She helped my brother and myself to see ordinary things as extraordinary, and too see art projects in everything from scraps of paper turning into mosaics and junk into forts and castles.
My mom inspired me as a child and now as an adult still inspires me to create. My shop in dedication to her is a means to help me be a stay at home mom and hopefully one as amazing as her. So just as my Dad named his dream boat after her, my shop "Sanditoes Designs" has come to birth a year after her death in 2016 to help me continue to be inspired by her beauty.
Thank you for shopping and for helping my dream.
