I highly recommend this shop and I now understand why there have been so many repeat purchases - something about opals turns some of us into collectors. I wasn't originally going to wear these two Sandmar pieces next to each other but something told me to try it and I love how they look together! Sandy has quite the eye for stones and I'm so happy to be able to support her efforts. The photo shows under low light on one side and under flash on the other. Happy to have my very first boulder opal - thank you!

5 out of 5 starsThis is such a lovely Lightning Ridge opal with so much vivid color! I'm so pleased I took a chance and ordered from Sandy. She has such a wide array of opal jewelry and I've had my eye on a few or more pieces for awhile now but just wasn't 100%. Do yourself a favor and place an order - opals are notoriously difficult to photograph but I scoured the reviews and opal jewelry tends to look better in person and I highly agree. I have a new forever ring with so much flash of red/hot pink, green, and blue and it's definitely mesmerizing! I'm an opal enthusiast and now a happy customer and will most likely be a return customer as soon as I can. Quick shipping and a gorgeous, sparkly opal - thank you!

It’s been hard to find nice Boulder opals in smaller ring sizes and the seller was very helpful in letting me know when smaller sizes would be available. I’m wearing it with some silver stacking rings to help reduce spinning but it also looks great by itself. Arrived a little late but that was a USPS delay, not the seller. I’m happy with this purchase!

Custom and personalized orders
If you would like a custom piece of jewelry made specifically for you, just send me a message! I am happy to accommodate your custom requests, depending on what you are looking for. I will send you photos along the way to ensure that you are involved along the way and that you get what you want.
When we agree on the design for a custom order, I will create a listing for 50% of the agreed upon price with the rest due upon your approval of the final piece of jewelry. Note that coupon codes are not accepted for custom orders.
Custom orders do take longer to schedule and complete, so be sure to plan ahead if you want an item by a specific date.
Sizing details
Please contact me prior to purchasing an item if you would like something resized, as not all items may be able to be modified, especially bezel set rings.
A resizing fee may apply (minimum $25USD up to a maximum of $100USD), depending on the time and materials needed to resize the item.

Care instructions
Care should be taken not to drop, bump or hit stones with undue force, as, depending on the hardiness of the stone or beads, they can crack or break.
Specific stone care instructions:
Druzy - restore the sparkle of any druzy by swishing the piece through warm water with dishwashing liquid, rinse in distilled water, and dry with a blower or hair dryer. Cared for properly, all drusies should last as long as the piece in which they are set.
Boulder opals - Solid opals should be cleaned gently with mild detergent in warm water and a soft toothbrush or cloth. Avoid bleach, chemicals and cleaners. Never allow anyone to clean your opal in an ultrasonic cleaner as this can cause them to crack.
What is a boulder opal?
Boulder opals are only found in Queensland Australia. The opal generally forms in thin veins within host rock of ironstone or sandstone, known as boulders, which vary in shape, size and color.
Boulder opal is primarily cut with host rock as a base. This provides strength and durability unlike other opals. Even with host stone, they are still regarded as solid opals as they occur naturally.
