ABOUT US
We joined Etsy in October 2018, my family has been involved in the sapphire trade in Sri Lanka for many generations.
We source our rough sapphires from the Ratnapura Gem Market. Thereafter, we cut and polish them in our own shop. We then market our stones to gem dealers and jewellers worldwide.
Much of the sapphires we cut and polish are to meet purchase requests from some of the most prominent jewellers around the world. However, we still cut and polish stones for the general market as well.
WHY SELL ON ETSY
After meeting with many independent jewellers and designers around the world, we realised how difficult it was for independent designers to source sapphires. Etsy being a great community of independent creators, we decided to make some of our sapphires available on this platform. We have ensured to include a wide range of colours, sizes, shapes, and clarity, to maximise the opportunity for any designer to find exactly what they want. If you cannot find a suitable sapphire, you are most welcome to place a custom order with us. We will do our utmost to get you what you want.
OUR ATTENTION TO DETAIL
We understand the importance of transparency and honest communication, especially when buying sapphires online. Our photos are taken in daylight conditions with a colour temperature of 5900K and a CRI of 96 to capture the most accurate colour (the actual colour might vary slightly due to monitor quality and settings - please do get in touch with us to discuss further about Colour Management).
Many members of our shop are Graduate Gemologists having completed their courses at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). We made sure to grade every sapphire individually according to the GIA Coloured Stone Grading System. This time-consuming process shows our commitment to facilitate trading sapphires over the internet by making everything that a customer would want to know, available to them at a glance. Our vision is ensure that sapphire buyers are able to buy sapphires just with a grading report, like they do, to an extent, with diamonds.
