I'm an amigurumi enthusiast from Manchester, UK. I've always been a little arts-and-craftsy, and have expressed creativity through many different hobbies over the years.
I have no idea what inspired me to pick up crochet! But in 2012 I bought a hook, and a ball of yarn, and decided to try it out.
I used YouTube tutorials to learn the basic stitches, and shortly after, I discovered amigurumi. I couldn't even say that word for the longest time! But I fell in love with the simplicity, endless possibilities, and of course - the cute little creations that sprang from my hook!
I mostly freehand in my spare time (which isn't much, unfortunately!). I pick some colours and just go with the flow, whilst out in the garden or watching TV. 'Simple and cute' is my go-to, so many of my creations share a similar look. I kind of like that. :)
I share some of my favourite creations on Instagram, and sometimes Reddit.
One day I shared a picture of my very first baby bat, which I freehanded one dull and drizzly Saturday afternoon. He wasn't perfect, but I was so proud of him! He attracted quite a lot of attention and calls for a pattern. So I recreated him a few times, developing an easy to follow pattern along the way. And that is how this little shop came to be!
I don't really consider myself a designer. Just a hobbyist who enjoys sharing my creations with like-minded people!
If you made it this far - thank you for taking the time to read this!! If you have an Instagram account, you can follow or tag me @_sassaroo. I love seeing other people's creations as well as sharing my own. The crochet community in general are an awesome and super supportive bunch, and I'm so happy to be a part of it.

5 out of 5 starsThese work up so cute. I gave them as a gift to my niece who thinks baby bats are adorable, hum so do I. Thank you for making this “surprise just because I love you” gift so easy to make.

5 out of 5 starsAmazing pattern, though the wing section was a little tricky to puzzle out. It looks spectacular and if you're gonna be dealing with yarn chicken on the wings, one can be used instead of two
