I've worked in the trade since 1980, primarily as a production patternmaker. In 1995, I started my own business providing pattern and sewing services to the trade. In 1997, I wrote The Entrepreneur's Guide to Sewn Product Manufacturing. In 2005, I began Fashion-Incubator.com, which quickly became the industry's flagship site for self education and information. I opened my own factory last year, to provide small lot production to small companies and fill ins for established brands. We also provide in depth training and consulting, to include rapid product development (patterns and protos while you wait). The majority of my experience has been coats, suits, leather garments and complex engineered sewn products.
Our latest endeavor is Manufacturing Boot Camp, a free*, immersive educational experience wherein we cut and sew products that are donated to worthy charities. In Fall 2015, we cut and sewed 125 heavy, winter coats for children -in 4 days. For Spring 2016, we're making 250 dresses for needy seniors. There is no cost for training but attendees contribute toward purchasing needed materials. Anyone is invited to apply regardless of experience. At our first event, fully half of the participants, had never sewn at all.

5 out of 5 starsThis is the best instructions for a pattern I´ve ever seen. Even if you don´t plan to buy the actual pattern, these instructions will help with any other coat or jacket. Totally recommended!!!

5 out of 5 starsThe author did a great job of setting up photos for the sewing directions. Neutral fabrics were used along with bright colored thread that make it easy to understand the steps involved. I’m glad I purchased the directions first they appear to be very well written. I just received my pattern in the mail today. I’m excited to get started. I am begging this designer to release more patterns and sewing instructions. It’s very hard to find good patterns and instructions like this especially for Men’s garments . A Rain coat or a men’s pea coat would be greatly appreciated :p
