Say Something Teez was started when founder, Tori G, won a die cut machine at her 9-5 job. With no intentions of creating a company, she thought it would be fun for her family, and would give her children the opportunity to have the BEST projects in their class. One day, she took it out of the box, looked at it, and put it back—for six months. As a matter of fact, Tori G did this several times. She finally decided to give it a serious effort when both of her children began playing sports. One played football and the other was a cheerleader. As any sports mom, the excitement of her children became contagious, thereby causing her to make (and wear) a different shirt for every game.
During the 2020 election cycle, and in the midst of a global pandemic, Say Something Teez was officially born. Paying close attention to the Presidential debates, it was the last debate between now Vice-President, Kamalah Harris, and the former Vice-President, who rudely spoke over her several times—that spun an idea in Tori’s mind. It was Harris’ simple response, “I’m Speaking,” to Pence’s disrespect, that resonated with Tori as black woman. Having felt marginalized and unheard on many occasions herself, but afraid of being labeled an ‘Angry Black Woman,’ Harris’ now infamous quip landed on a Say Something Tee that Tori boldly wore. A quick selfie posted on social media started the movement that is now quickly growing into the Tori G. empire.
Tori G. hails from Edgefield, SC, and resides in Atlanta, GA with her two children, Davis and her daughter, Addie Rose. She is known for her quick wit, thought-provoking phrases, making people laugh, and putting the things no one wants to discuss on the frontline—a tshirt!
