Creation and Evolution
Crochet Creations by Dottie Z. Scher started in 1991 in Loveland, Ohio. Until that year, I never sold my crochet work. A friend who owned an Interior Design Shop asked me to make some decorative pillows for one of her customers. Thus, CCDZS, or ScherStudio as it is now called, was born. Over the years, I've sold in emporiums, at fairs and festivals, gift shops, yarn shops and online. In 2011, I partnered with Lisa Correia of Enlightened Platypus here on etsy and my online business began a steady increase in interest and sales. Now it’s is going strong.
I get requests for custom orders on a regular basis. After decades in the Child Protective Services field, it's wonderful to be able to do something relaxing that I really enjoy! Along with babysitting my grand children, volunteering with my local Parks and Recreation Department making reproduction art at a local Heritage Village and hiking with my husband, helping with the care of my four granddaughters, my crochet work is my therapy, my grounding, my inspiration and my continuing education.
