Frequently asked questions

Why aren’t all photos available at all sizes?

Some of the images you see here were created with my very first digital camera…I made some great images with that camera, but its 16-megapixel sensor couldn’t touch the large-size image quality available in the 47-megapixel behemoth I carry with me today. For that reason, and in an effort to maintain the highest print quality across my product line, some of the photos you see here are not openly available at the largest sizes. That said, please contact me if you see an image you would like in a larger size than what's published; in certain circumstances, I may be able to accommodate your request.

Can I request a custom order?

Absolutely! I’m happy to discuss custom sizes, triptychs, print materials, and in some cases, framing options, if my standard product line doesn’t quite fit what you’re looking for. Please use the Contact link on this page to start the conversation.

What happens if my print arrives damaged?

Thankfully, this is a very rare occurrence...I think I can count on one hand the number of damaged prints I’ve encountered in many hundreds of art festival sales. I will always replace a print that has arrived damaged. Please contact me and include photos of the packaging materials and the print, showing what damage has occurred. This will allow me to file a claim with the carrier and get your print replaced. Additionally, please hold onto the box and any packing materials so that the carrier can pick up your return shipment. Damaged prints are always an inconvenience, but I’ll do my best to make it as painless as possible.

Will my print look like what I see on my computer screen?

Your computer screen might display colors a bit differently than mine, so you may see slight differences in print colors. I rigorously test-print my images in a color-calibrated environment in order to ensure things like color, density and sharpness are optimized for print. Many of my customers have told me that their prints look far better than what they see on the computer (and, for what it’s worth, I’m yet to receive a complaint about this in many years of printmaking).

How do I clean my print?

For Metal and Acrylic Prints, a non-abrasive glass cleaner and a clean microfiber cloth will generally do the trick. While I’ve found Metal Prints to be fairly scratch resistant, please make certain the cloth you use is free of all dust particles, as these can scratch the print surface. A feather duster works great for light cleaning. For Canvas Prints, you can use a clean, dry cloth or a feather duster.

Do you accept returns?

Each print is created on a made-to-order basis, which means that I incur an expense once your order has been placed with one of my vendors. My costs on larger prints can be substantial. For this reason, I ask that buyers only make a purchase if they are certain of the photo and size they require for their space. That said, in order to comply with laws in some of the countries I sell to, I do offer a 14-day return policy provided the buyer pays for return shipping and the print remains in pristine condition. A 25% restocking fee will be assessed prior to refund. It's worth noting that I've never had a customer ask to return their print, a point I am very proud of.

Are prints available in sizes larger than those shown on Etsy?

For logistical reasons I won't bore you with in this setting, I have had to limit the print sizes on my Etsy site to 60-inches on the long end. In many cases, however, I still have the ability to create prints in sizes larger than 60-inches (in some cases, up to 96-inches on the long side!). If you are interested in purchasing a print of any type that is larger than what's available on my Etsy site, please send me a message; I'll work with you to determine if and how your request can be accommodated. In some cases, additional shipping charges may apply.

Are your print sizes the same for US and international customers?

Within a small margin of error, yes. It is important to note, however, that standard sizing between my US and German print labs is slightly different. A 40-inch x 60-inch print translates to 100-cm x 150-cm in standard metric sizes; this means that an order placed for a 40x60 by a customer outside the USA, which will be serviced by my German print lab, will receive a print that is 39.4-inches x 59-inches (100cm = 39.4in). In cases such as this, the final print is ever-so-slightly smaller than the size referenced on my Etsy site; in some others, the final print may be ever-so-slightly larger. Thus, international customers should be sure to calculate conversions appropriately when determining the best print size for their space.

Do you offer framing on prints sold outside the USA?

Regrettably, I have thus far been unable to secure international vendors who can accommodate framing specifications similar to what I offer to my US-based customers. For this reason, I am unable to offer framing through my Etsy site on prints sold to customers outside the USA. That said, there may be circumstances in which I could produce a print domestically and have it shipped to an international location for an additional fee; a transaction of this nature would take place outside my Etsy site. Please send me a message if you would like to discuss this option.
