An Unusual Ministry
I started making shirts for our Baptist Church kids. When they would memorize a verse, their name would go into the drawing for a shirt with that verse on it.
Later that first year the kids were getting ready to go to Summer Camp and I made up a program where they could sell shirts with verses on them to raise money to go to camp. Dozens of kids have helped pay for their camp expenses over the years with that program.
I then decided to start selling them online. Seeing a verse on my shirt often starts a conversation with other Christians that see me wearing one of my shirts. I usually try to remember to give them a business card and sometimes I end up making a custom shirt for them with their favorite verse on it.
I donate a lot of shirts to our local homeschool co-op. The pastor's wife gives a couple of them out for good behavior each week. I talk to the kids to get their size and favorite color, then bring them their new shirt the following week.
It thrills me to look around the sanctuary and see all the kids wearing shirts with scriptures on the front, that I have made.
I have started doing other items as time has passed and expanded the line to include many items.
