My name is Saskia de Vries and I am a Brooklyn-based jewelry designer. Years ago, my husband, Scott, and I took a year-long trip around the world. I collected beads and stones from artisans selling their wares and returned to New York ready to take those experiences and memories and craft them into pieces of jewelry. SASKIA the brand was born.

With the arrival of COVID, our business fundamentally changed. We closed our storefronts and had lots of time to dig into our “why” and consider what our company is really about. We realized that the connections we have made through creativity and creation are what fuel us - not just the products we sell. I will always remember making bracelets with two young boys on a boat trip in South Korea. We didn’t share a language, but together we made art and found common ground.

We’ve returned to those roots with a new line of DIY beaded jewelry kits for both adults and kids made with the same professional materials we use here in the studio - no cheap plastic, no fishing wire - along with professional tools that may be purchased for studio results at home. In addition, we produced a series of instructional videos that teach you exactly how to design and close each piece.
