Recycling Vintage Turkish Rugs and Turkish Kilims to Decorative Pillow, Cushion Covers
Hello to everybody. My name is Mustafa. I was born in Kayseri in the central Anatolia.
I live in countryside which is about 10 miles far from city central which is very famous with handmade. My father was a handmade rug producer. I have work many years with my father as designer. I was drawing the designs of the rugs and give this designs to the women and they use to weave the knots but nowadays, nobody is weaving rugs anymore.
After my father died, I wanted to make my own business in the Textile. I made many years knitting but after the Economic crisis in 2001, I had to give up knitting. After this year I thought that it will be great idea to make unique products from vintage Turkish rugs. I have started to make different type of handmade gifts like woman bags, patchwork rugs and kilim pillow covers. I have been collecting vintage Turkish Rugs and Kilims from all around the Turkey from small villages. I cut them in different sizes and sew them in my small work area. I am happy to share our handmade pillows with you. I hope you will be happy to have them in your house.
