Making Vintage Easy to Wear and Easy to Buy
My love for vintage started early. As a ’90s kid, I was obsessed with old TV shows like I Dream of Jeannie and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. I loved the clothes, the colors, the whole feeling of it. When thrift-store fashion took off in the grunge years, I was hooked — I still remember the wonder of my first trip to a thrift store and realizing how much magic was hiding on those racks.
Fast-forward a bit to the early Etsy days — the height of the hipster era — when I opened Shine Bright Vintage. Back then, the shop was full of strange, funny, and ironic pieces, because that’s what the vintage world was all about. Over time, though, my taste and focus evolved. The shop grew into something more lasting — a place for pieces with true character, quality, and timelessness.
Since then, I’ve sold more than 3,500 vintage items — everything from classic denim to rare, one-of-a-kind finds. What ties them all together is that feeling of soul — a kind of presence that only well-made, well-aged pieces have. I’m drawn to clothes that are classic but never boring, sometimes with a little patina, sometimes made from natural fibers that are hard to find anymore, but always with something special about them.
These days, Santa Fe is my thrifting playground. I love spending weekends at yard sales, meeting people, and uncovering treasures that show the incredible variety of style and history here. It’s where I find many of the timeless pieces that make their way into the shop — clothes with substance, detail, and that quiet kind of beauty that never goes out of style.
You’ll find plenty of vintage denim here, especially overalls, because they’re practical, comfortable, and timeless. But more than anything, I’ve come to believe that vintage clothing is actually very practical in today’s world. Clothing is often made quickly and cheaply now, and many people are looking for something better made, longer lasting, and with more character and meaning. Vintage clothing offers that — but it can also be overwhelming and confusing to shop for, especially online, where sizing and measurements vary so much.
That’s really the reason for this shop. My goal with Shine Bright Vintage is to make vintage easy to buy — clear measurements, modern sizing guidance, fair prices, and pieces that are easy to wear in everyday life. Vintage shouldn’t feel difficult or risky to buy online. It should feel like finding something great that you’ll wear for years.
Everything in Shine Bright Vintage is chosen because it has that certain something — maybe it’s the texture, the cut, the way it’s aged, or the feeling it gives you when you put it on. The kind of piece that makes you ready to go live your life in it.
