How can I help?

I am a former paralegal who decided to be a work from home business owner with this shop. When I saw the price of plain mass produced belly bands for my foster dogs, I knew I could make them cuter and better. I love to learn new things, so off I went to refine my sewing skills and research the best materials. After making a ton of belly bands for myself, I donated some to Recycled Pomeranians Dog Rescue Houston. Then I was getting orders for custom harnesses and pajamas from foster and adoptive doggie parents. Etsy was the next logical step and provides a nice way for people all over the world to buy my products. I have currently shipped orders to 9 countries and almost every US state! I'm looking at you Rhode Island and Wyoming, ha!

Because of this Etsy shop and your kind support, I have been able to donate $1,499.37 in products and cash to Recycled Pomeranians Houston, Wrapped in Love, and the Days for Girls organizations. I've driven over 4,000 miles. I frequently work events where my paycheck from the day goes to Recycled Pomeranians. In 2016 and 2017, I worked 10 all day events. In 2017 I built the Recycled Pomeranians Website and ran the Facebook page. I've picked up dogs from shelters, bathed some very dirty dogs, found great deals on collars/leashes to donate. I can't thank you enough for your support! Your order makes a difference in the lives of many dogs.

My husband and I have fostered and re-homed 20 dogs with Recycled Pomeranians: Walnut, Mozzie, Marty, Newton, Ricotta, HoHo, Diggle, Freedom, Tinsel, Pom Pom, Pilot, Patron, Sunshine, Huggs, Roux, Carston, Roby, Pumba, Sissy, and Mesa. If you are interested in adopting a Pomeranian please look up "Recycled Pomeranians Houston" on Facebook.

I also support other charitable organizations such as "Wrapped with Love" where I donate belly bands and dog toys to dog rescues all over the US. In January 2018, I attended a "Days for Girls" sew-a-thon where about 40 people worked on washable menstrual product kits that will be sent to impoverished girls in places like Africa. Each girl will gain back about 180 "days" of education that they would otherwise miss because of their period! For my 41st birthday I spent about 40 hours and made 10 complete kits at home plus donated a lot of extra supplies to make even more at the next sew-a-thons.

Thank you for supporting my work! If I can help you with anything, please let me know.

We have 3 full time pomeranians and have fostered another 20. Working from home allows me to donate a lot of time and resources to charitable causes such as Days for Girls and Recycled Pomeranians Dog Rescue. Thank you for supporting my work!

  • Max

Max is the dog that started it all. Cancer took him in October 2018 after 10 very full years on this earth. He was a dach/pom mix & got no better pleasure than keeping a lookout at the sewing room window. He left this world knowing he was a good boy.

  • Revy

Revy is my little sweetheart. She's the only girl of the bunch and also my smallest model. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body but she does seem to run things around here. Revy is 5 years old.

  • Regis

    The Entertainer

Regis keeps us laughing. He's my foster failure. I was suppose to just foster him but fell in love and adopted him. He has IMHA, an immune related disease that is now in remission!!! He's 10 years old.

  • Pilot

    Customer Service

Pilot was a former foster dog of ours who was turned in to a shelter in Washington by his adopter then had to be flown back to us in Texas. He is now a senior at around 10 years old, so we adopted him. It was meant to be, he's been through enough.

Frequently asked questions
Can I return a belly band or diaper?

Because of the intimate nature (health/hygienic reasons), I can't accept returns on belly bands or diapers. If you have a problem, just let me know and we'll find a solution. I can often offer an extender piece, a coupon, an exchange, or other accommodation.

Are the belly bands absorbent? Do I need a liner?

My belly bands are minimally absorbent. They are meant to be used with a disposable panty liner or poise type pad for anything over minor dribbles. With an appropriate pad size they can handle it all! You can cut the pads in half for an economical solution. I like Prevail (from Amazon) Tena (HEB & Walmart) and Poise brand pads.

If you want a more eco friendly solution that doesn't require any liners, I can make an absorbent insert sewn directly into the band itself. Please contact me for pricing.

Care instructions

Belly Bands and Diapers: Close the hook and loop tape before washing to avoid the hooks attaching to other items or collecting threads in them. Machine or hand wash in cool or warm water with regular detergent. Air dry for longest life. If you use the dryer, use the lowest setting possible. You can dry on high/medium, the bands just won't last quite as long. To remove urine odor, add regular vinegar or OdoBan to the rinse cycle. I add both of these to the "softener" section of my washing machine. Do not use fabric softener or dryer sheets, they interfere with the absorbency of the fibers over time. Bands too wrinkled? Machine dry for a few minutes then lay the band flat and smooth out the wrinkles with your hands. Finish by air drying.

Do I have to measure my dog?

Please measure your dog. I know, I hate to do it too. They wiggle!

My bands are uniquely sized. There are no standard sizes for dog clothing. Please know that measuring is the only way to be sure you will get a size that fits your dog. Some makers include more or less hook and loop tape which vastly changes sizing. Include your dog's girth measurement in your checkout notes; I will double check to make sure you have ordered the proper size.

Do you have or can you get this particular fabric?

Send me a convo. I will try my best to find what you are looking for. I have a ton of fabric that just hasn't made it into the shop yet.
