I started this shop back when I was in high school. At the time the owner and supervisor was my mom. I was a teenager and my dad was saying that I should find a job so my mom got me into sewing paper pieced blocks to sell on ebay. My mom is a seam stress and had been operating a one person workroom for a local home decor company (she made home decor pillows and window treatments to name a few things). Mom is the one who discovered Etsy and decided to help me sell American Girl doll clothes. It wasn't easy at first. I hardly was making a profit. I would use the Alchemy section (an old section where you could see custom order requests then send offers to the customer) to simply just get orders. Now many years later I am a RN with a full time job and this is my creative outlet where I let my inner child be free. As a bonus I also get to use the skills my mom taught me from a young age. My mom isn't as involved anymore. She has sort of moved on to other things - she actually designs doll clothes now and sells them through PixieFaire.com. Some of the items I sell here are from patterns that she designed - how cool is that?
