For the longest time I thought art couldn't' be anything more than a hobby and was very discouraged to the point of trying really hard to give it up. Yes... can you believe that?! What the heck!! After lots of drifting miserably through various career choices that never really felt like more than just a job, I am finally back to art and am determined to make my dream job a reality! When the year turned 2021, something just hit me. It has been my absolute passion since I was old enough to pick up my first crayon, and something I just can't live without, regardless of how hard I've tried. Which just goes to show, never ignore your passions. Grow and nurture them! So here I am, trying to do just that ♥
Fall has always been my absolute favorite time of year. I grew up in Massachusetts, where the leaves turn brilliant shades of reds, oranges and yellows. It's a magical sight and added to Halloween! For me, it wasn't about the candy at all (well...okay, a little bit. I mean, who can say 'free candy isn't exciting?'), but about the festivity of the season. The lovely pumpkins and orange lights, the spider webs... the one day a year where the world gets a little spookier! And the movies... I grew up on Scooby Doo's Zombie Island, Hocus Pocus, Van Helsing, and Nightmare Before Christmas (look, it's just as much of a Halloween movie as it is a Christmas one!), to name a few. From there, I fell in love with all sorts of magical mischief and macabre, and that's what drives my art today!
