I've been painting for over 30 years now, and still love it! Since starting my shop in 2010, I've expanded my hand painting to a wide variety of items and custom designs. These include painted glassware, wedding sets, tea pots and sets, piggy banks, pet portraits, canvas paintings, genuine porcelain mugs, plates and Glass Christmas ornaments. Most items I paint are made to order, customized and personalized according to specific needs of my customers. This keeps things fresh and never dull. It's a lot of hard work and responsibility, but I'm doing something that I love, so I consider myself lucky in that respect. It brings me a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. I do all of my paintings with care and details in order to capture the unique aspects of the subject or pets' personality and I'm especially fond of painting animals. Many years ago I started painting on canvas and was inspired and learned a great deal from the late great Bob Ross. Then for a time I worked for a birdhouse factory painting all kinds of things on them. Such as birds, butterflies, turtles and bugs to name a few. I enjoyed doing that, but was limited in the overall creative process. However, I gained the necessary experience to become a professional production hand painting artist. After a few years I moved to Seagrove North Carolina to be near my oldest daughter and my new grandson. I started working for a local pottery shop that also did hand painting on their pieces. That's where I started painting pet portraits for some of their customers and really loved it so much! Portraits of your beloved pets are a great way to keep them close to your heart forever and make the most wonderful gifts! After working at the pottery for a little over nine years I opened my shop while still maintaining my job, which by then was only part time due to the poor economy of that time. Finally after over three years of hard work, countless hours of design, production, photography and creation of listings, I had enough business to stand on my own. It became that I no longer had enough time to work at the pottery at all. So I gave them fair notice and have not looked back, and never will. I want to deeply thank all the wonderful people from across the USA and around the world, who have supported SharonsCustomArtwork with your purchases, your great reviews, your favorites and your treasuries. You've been a great source of inspiration and positive energy to me! You've been with me from the beginning and have made everything possible! You've changed my life forever for the better! May God bless you all!
