From the Beginning
Many years ago I was shown how to knit and fell in love. Not just with the process but with the fiber too. I have used all sorts of fibers from acrylic to silk, and even linen. I found that I loved knitting from high quality fibers, such as silk, cashmere, and superfine merino wool.
That passion for fiber has always made me curious about working more with fiber. I tried felting, but I am not the most creative person, and it was just not my thing. My creativeness falls in a more logical sense, and is not as free as most creative types. I thought about spinning, but knew it was a very expensive habit. I decided to try spindle spinning. I loved it from the very start. I absolutely fell in love with the fiber and the art of making it into what ever I wanted.
I then grew from the spindle to the wheel. As soon as I got my wheel I knew what I was supposed to do. I wanted nothing more then to spin yarn. The science of the wheel, and yet the creative aspect of creating my own yarn called to me. I will literally dream about spinning and can barely contain myself on buying fiber to see how it will change as I spin it and create new color combos.
My love for the fiber and the high quality continues in my spinning as it did in my knitting. I try to buy the highest quality fiber that is next to the skin soft. I only use fiber that I would myself use and wear. I find that I am slightly sensitive to prickly wool and so I tend to stick to Merino or other superfine wool.
I am a Wife and Mother of 3 children who simply loves what I do. I just hope that you love my product as much as I do.
