Frequently asked questions
Care instructions
Many customers ask how to dust seashell creations. It’s easy! Brush the shells with a very soft 2 in paint brush! (This is how they dust picture frames with grooves and indentions at the Louvre!)
How do you clean dusty or dirty coral?
Smooth surface corals like bird nest coral can be dusted with a very very soft 1 inch paint brush. Stand alone pieces of Rough surface corals like poca, blue ridge, cats paw and brownstem, can be gently emerged and soaked in a sink of warm warm water. Rinse gently with warm water.
Why do some shells seem to move on decorated creations?
The special adhesive I use is very strong yet flexible. This flexibility is important to reduce breakage of the shells. It may result in the ability to slightly move some of the shells. However, even with this slight movement, the adhesive is firmly attached to the base product. Occasionally (rarely) shells may not adhere properly or come lose during shipping. If this happens, contact me and together we will decide best course of action. I stand behind my creations!
How long will it take to receive a custom order?
On average, large or very detailed custom orders, such as mirrors or mermaids, are shipped within 4-6 weeks. Smaller items, like frames or ornaments are usually shipped within 2-4 weeks. I communicate with buyers frequently during the design, completion and shipping of custom orders.
