Shells Calling Designs is a South Carolina Lowcountry heritage brand that celebrates the people, traditions, craftsmanship, and stories of the coast through handcrafted art and thoughtfully designed products.

I enjoy making things at the holidays for those I love. I have always been crafty and soon I was spending time choosing special premium ribbons, greenery and florals creating one-of-a-kind wreaths. I gifted wreaths to family and friends one holiday season. With their continued encouragement and praise, I created more by using oyster shells I had available and soon one-of-a-kind decor art representing the coastal vibe of the Lowcountry was born! When people see my Sweetgrass Ring Oyster Shell Garland, they often see a beautiful piece of coastal décor. What I see is a lifetime of the South Carolina Lowcountry.

As I developed my oyster shell garlands, I wanted them to represent more than the coast—I wanted them to honor the people who make the South Carolina Lowcountry so special. Passing a small sweetgrass basket in my home, I looked at its woven handle and wondered, "Why couldn't a sweetgrass ring become part of the oyster shell garland?" That simple question transformed my design into a celebration of authentic Lowcountry heritage, craftsmanship, and tradition.

My sister is my Superstar--knowing the ins/outs of vendor shows and expos and she was the one pushing the hardest for me to make the leap into the public--selling handmade wreaths and coastal decor both in person and now online in my newly opened Etsy Shop!
