5 out of 5 starsLeah's CVM fleeces are fabulous and I'm in loved with the latest one. Beautiful subtle color, wonderful hand, and delightful to spin. Quick shipping and great packing as always. The fleece is well skirted with minimal VM as always, easily spinnable after wash without further processing.

5 out of 5 starsLeah and her Romeldale fleeces are awesome. Even though the fleeces are uncovered, they have very little VM and can be spun after washing without further processing. The fleeces are a pleasure to wash and spin, The CVM fleeces haber gorgeous coloring. This particular white fleece washed up bright white and fluffy. Shipping is fast and well packed, and Leah has always been great about communication when I needed it.

5 out of 5 starsWow! The CVM fleece I ordered is gorgeous. It's probably the cleanest raw fleece I've seen, and the range of colors in just this one fleece is amazing. SO amazing in fact, I bought another! Lovely wool Leah, I'll be back for more!

5 out of 5 starsI absolutely love this fleece. Shipping took about 1 week. It took me 3 weeks to begin processing this fleece because I have been working on cleaning and preparing other fleeces. It is a beautiful color of brown.

It happened by accident....
Who we are: My husband and I love raising and working with animals, and wish to pass on to our young son the proud heritage that comes with farming, caring for livestock and the land that feeds them. We keep around 50 happy CVM/Romeldale ewes as a way to feed our family and teach our son a way of life knowing where food and fiber comes from. CVM's(California Variegated Mutant) are considered a fine wool breed of sheep which
are considered critically endangered by The American Livestock Conservancy.
What we do: We sell skirted CVM/Romeldale fleeces for handspinning, as well as roving, yarn and felt. Fiber products are highly seasonal! We also sell purebred lambs upon request, starting in October when are lambs are weaned.
How it began: It happened by accident.... The sheep started out as a way for us to train our working stock dogs.....and then things just got out of control! When you have one sheep you might as well have a few, right? I wanted to try something different from the more common sheep meat breeds, and by chance found a handful of older CVM girls someone was selling in 2009. We expanded our numbers by tracking down more CVM/Romeldales, and now we have a small flock of around 30 registered CVM/Romeldale sheep. They are such fun, rewarding creatures. It is fun to see the lambs born every year, and what combinations of colors the fleeces will behold. I have been selling on Etsy since 2011, and it has been such a fun way to interact and learn from other sellers and customers. I feel strongly that there is a place for every type of fiber out there!
I will always send fiber samples upon request free of charge to expand familiarity of the CVM/Romeldale fiber.
Thank you for supporting small farmers, fiber arts as well as rare and endangered livestock breeds!
