The salt effect in the works. Salt slowly pulls the colors towards it as the dye dries. -
My home-made stretcher and painting materials. -
After painting, each dyed silk is wrapped in paper and prepared for steam setting. -
I use a home-made steam pipe to set the dyes. Each silk is hung and steamed for an hour and a half. -
Freshly unwrapped silks after steam setting. Steam setting the dyes makes each color slightly more vibrant.
