Our Story
ShopFloorOps was built from the ground up — literally.
Over the past 20 years I've worked across a wide range of manufacturing environments, starting out on the shop floor and eventually working my way up through supervision, management, and everything in between. That journey took me through warehouses, production lines, maintenance departments, and front offices — and along the way I picked up something that no classroom can teach: a real understanding of how operations actually work at every level.
What makes this shop different is perspective. I've been on both sides of the clipboard. I've been the guy on the floor staring at a form that made no sense, wondering who designed it and why. And I've been the manager trying to build a tracking system from scratch at midnight before an audit. That experience — frustrating, humbling, and invaluable — is baked into every spreadsheet and document in this shop.
The tools here didn't come from a template library or a business school. They came from real problems on real floors, refined over years of trial and error, feedback from teams, and the hard-won habit of always asking "is there a better way to track this?"
