What does Showphar mean?
Testify...sound the alarm...
A Shophar is a ram's horn blown as a wind instrument, sounded in Biblical times chiefly to communicate signals in battle and announce certain religious occasions. Today it is blown at synagogue services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
I took a slight poetic license with the spelling. In todays political and social climate, I believe it is imperative that we stand up for what we believe to be honest, and kind, with temperance and patience, knowing that we are righteous only through Christ Jesus and not through our own efforts.
What can we do to help someone else to be encouraged, to be strong through a difficult time? We can testify of our own trials and how we gained strength and wisdom and fortitude from them. That is Showphar's credence.
And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony... Revelation 12:11
If you would like to share your testimony, please send me an email. I have a blog that I would like to share your testimony on: http://www.showphar.org
