My name is Sylvia Koteva. My experience in candle making started in 2002. At that time I worked at two places (nothing common with arts and crafts) and it happened so I quit both my jobs. Then I knew - I wanted to be independent, to be selfemloyed and to make something with my hands. Not so long after that I saw a very big candle in a fine hotel in Turkey, I was impressed I haven’t been seen such thing in Bulgaria. I liked it very much and I decided to try to create a similar thing.
Then I started to read about candle making and started to make experiments. It took me a few months to invent a big mold and then a few months in developing the concept in shapes, colors and decorations and that’s how I started my business.
A few years ago I was attracted by resin and now I make much bigger variety of products - tables, pictures, plates, etc.
For 18 years by now I’ve been doing a thing that I like very much, it makes me happy and it develops my creativity so I can support the enthusiasm of all people who are wondering whether to try. To indulge yourself to your dream and work what you love is a really a good way to spend your time.
I hope that my handmade decorations and wax bring an uniqueness and a coziness in homes, hotels, restaurants, spa studios, etc. I think that the details contribute to the special atmosphere in a particular venue.
I make my creations inspired by nature, fashion and interior design - they are a source of creativity.
I make also workshops in candle making and I teach students various techniques. It gives me great joy and I share with pleasure everything I know about candles. My students are people who love to do something with their hands, have imagination or just want to relax in a pleasant, full of aromas romantic atmosphere.
