From Nature to Art
Ever since I can remember I have enjoyed drawing and sketching. When I was 16, my parents, who wanted to support my artistic creativity, enrolled me into the “Zeichen-Akademie” in Hanau/Germany. The Academy is an all day school where you learn the trade of becoming a certified jeweler. For seven semesters (3.5 years), I studied drawing, design, metalworking and learned to make jewelry. I graduated with the degree of certified goldsmith.
However, I only worked for a few months in my profession.
I returned to art years later, after moving to the United States. I initially started by drawing and painting. Then I discovered PMC (Precious Metal Clay), took a course and started to create pendants and necklaces. Eventually, this led me to discover all the pretty stones Nature produces - I have been hooked ever since I tried for the first time to capture their beauty in silver.
Since 1989 my American husband and I have been living in beautiful Connecticut.
My other loves/hobbies are my animals, gardening and being outdoors whenever possible. At the moment we live with two dogs, three cats and a parrot.
