Frequently asked questions

How to Measure for a Bracelet

Use a flexible tape measure (the soft kind used by seamstresses), a strip of paper, or even a piece of string. Wrap it snugly, but not tightly, just below your wrist bone. Mark where the ends meet, then measure that length to find your wrist size.

To get your ideal bracelet fit:

• Add 1” for a comfortable fit
• Add 1½” for a looser, more relaxed fit

If you already have a bracelet you love the feel of, measure it to get a sense of what’s most comfortable for you. That’s often the easiest guide!

Sizing details are included in each listing, but if you’re unsure, feel free to message me—I’d be happy to help make sure you get the perfect fit.

What kind of silver do you use?

✿ Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. I use only nickel-free sterling silver in my work, because no one needs itchy ears with their sparkle.

✿ Argentium Silver
Argentium is a modern twist on traditional sterling. It’s still 92.5% silver, but some of the copper is swapped out for germanium. That tiny change makes a big difference: it’s more tarnish-resistant and often a better choice for people with copper sensitivities.
It’s still sterling—just a little smarter.

✿ Fine Silver
Also known as pure silver, fine silver is 99.9% silver with just trace elements making up the rest. It’s softer than sterling, but beautifully smooth and naturally hypoallergenic.

Do You Take Custom Orders?

I’m always happy to discuss small customizations (like different lengths, ear wire changes, etc.). If you're dreaming up something more complex, feel free to reach out and we’ll see if it’s doable!

What if an item takes longer to arrive than is stated in the shipping policies.

Shipments heading outside of Canada sometimes take a little longer than the timelines provided by Canada Post. This is almost always due to delays at customs in the receiving country causing a backlog in processing time.

Rest assured, your package is still on its journey. I’m always happy to help track it down or answer any questions—just reach out and we’ll figure it out together.

What is the difference between processing time and shipping time?

Processing Time:
This is the time it takes me to handcraft your order before it’s dropped in the mail. The clock starts the day after you place your order and counts weekdays only, because even silver needs a weekend.

Most items are made and ready to ship within 1 – 3 business days.

Shipping Time:
Once your package leaves my hands and is on its way via Canada Post, that’s where shipping time begins. This part depends on how far it’s going and how kind the postal gods are feeling that day.

International orders sometimes get delayed at customs (I know, it’s frustrating). Sadly, those delays are completely up to your country’s customs officers, and not even a polite Canadian nudge seems to make a difference.

Will my piece look exactly the same as the one in the picture?

Each piece is handmade, which means yours may vary just slightly from the one shown. Think snowflakes - each one unique, all of them beautiful.

What won’t change? The care, the quality, and the intention behind every curve and detail. Each piece I make carries a little strength, a little softness, and a whole lot of story - just like the women who wear it.

Gift Wrapping

Wrapped & Ready
Every order is lovingly packaged in a small white jewelry gift box - simple, elegant, and ready to give (or keep, no judgment here).

Want to include a personal note? Just leave your message in the “Note to Seller” box at checkout and I’ll make sure it gets tucked inside, just like you wrote it yourself—minus the smudges and panic over penmanship.

How Should I Care for My Silver Echoes Jewelry?

Sterling silver loves a little attention. Wear it often—it actually prefers your skin to a drawer. When it's not being fabulous on you, store it in a dry, airtight place. Avoid moisture, chemicals, and questionable hot tub decisions.

A soft polishing cloth will keep it gleaming.

Keep out of reach of children, wild animals, and people who say, "You've got enough jewelry."

What Is Gold-Filled?

Gold plating is a thin layer of gold electroplated onto a base metal like brass. It tends to wear off quickly, especially with daily use or water exposure.

Gold Vermeil (ver-MAY) is a thicker layer of gold (at least 2.5 microns) over sterling silver. It’s better for sensitive skin and a step up from plating, but over time, the gold can still wear thin with regular wear.

Gold-filled jewelry, on the other hand, is made with a thick, pressure-bonded layer of genuine gold over a brass core—at least 5% real gold by weight. It’s durable, long-lasting, and looks like solid gold without the hefty price tag.

At Silver Echoes, I use only gold-filled in my designs.

Gold-filled is just like you - beautiful, strong, and made to last.
