For as long as I can remember, I have created things. I never liked art class in school because it was too structured and I wanted to create whatever came to me. I think this is why I now love to knit and make jewelry. It is an evolving process and, especially with the jewelry, I rarely have an idea of how something will come out before I start. It is an evolution.
I have enjoyed knitting for many years. My first knitting project was a pair of baby booties for my first nephew who is now 32!
I have combined my longtime love of knitting with my joy of giving gifts in to this small business where people can come to find unique, fun, beautiful gifts for themselves or for friends.
Once I got the hang of regular knitting, I was intrigued to try felting. The process is fun and fascinating! I knit 100% wool in to the shape of a pouch or wine sweater, sew it up (if it is a pouch), and wash it in hot water in the machine. I especially love to see how the multi-colored yarn comes out when felted.
I started knitting beaded wire in to bracelets after seeing a knit necklace in a jewelry store. While it is harder on my hands to knit with wire, the outcome is always a joy.
The Viking Knit took me a quite a while to master but I love the process! After several frustrating attempts, I was able to start making really cool bracelets and necklaces that I can dress up with beautiful beads and clasps.
