At Simon Maker Studio, copper jewelry started as a way to slow down and reconnect with creativity in the middle of everyday life. With a background in art education, I’ve always believed that art isn’t just something you hang on the wall—it’s something you live with, wear, and carry as part of your story.
Working with copper felt natural from the beginning. It’s earthy, warm, and unpredictable—just like the creative process itself. Every piece I make starts as a flat sheet of metal, hammered and shaped by hand, with textures and details that can’t be replicated by a machine. I love that no two pieces are exactly alike; they carry the marks of the tools, the moment, and the maker.
Making jewelry this way is meditative for me, but it’s also about connection. When someone wears a pair of copper earrings from our studio, they’re not just wearing jewelry—they’re carrying a little piece of handmade artistry, something made slowly and intentionally in a world that moves way too fast. That’s what inspires me to keep creating: the chance to turn raw, simple materials into something meaningful that someone else will love and make their own.
