We make childhood memories magical.
It all began when a degree in art and design merged with motherhood, and the first of Simpkin's Costumes was born. Or rather, the first pair: Olivia Owl and Polly Penguin took the stage together in 2014 and have been winning hearts ever since.
When my first babies became toddlers, I looked at the costume choices available at popular stores and skimmed through the pattern books at fabric stores, I just didn't find what I was looking for. Browsing Pinterest brought some interesting new perspectives, but I soon realized that I wasn't going to find the costumes I had pictured in my mind, unless I designed and created them myself. I had plenty of background in design, some knowledge of sewing, and a whole lot of creativity and enthusiasm. 10 years later, I have gained incredible experience and skills in sewing, and my love for design only continues to grow!
I love seeing a child's face light up when they see the stuff of their imagination made real. I love the magic. I love being part of so many families' holidays, as well as their everydays. I love to share and inspire, and I'm thankful to all who have supported Simpkins along the way!
