Handcrafted Jewelry - Inspired by Nature

I love working with turquoise and wire. This piece combines them both nicely.
Barn Garden - One of my inspirations. I have 18 different gardens around my home.
A custom piece featuring a dog tag from a WW2 veteran. The piece was designed for his granddaughter.
Pearls are one of my favorite things. I think they should be worn often. Life is too short.
Inspired by the garden outside my workroom. It features vintage lucite flower beads and gemstones.

Simple Elements Design - Handcrafted jewelry made with sterling silver, gemstones and freshwater pearls.

Simple Elements Design started in 1987. Previously I had worked as a designer for another jewelry company. For years people were telling me to go out on my own but it took my husband being laid off from his job for me to jump off of the cliff and start my own business. I am so glad I did. My shop gives me the opportunity to be creative and being creative is like breathing to me. I like the fact that I do it all: I come up with the design; make it; photograph it and handle the shipping when it is sold. Most of my work is one of a kind. I think a person's jewelry should be as distinctive as they are. Why wear things that look like what everyone else is wearing?

There are so many things I love about what I do. I like the fact that I take inspiration from nature and my gardens and then create a piece of art people can wear. I cherish the relationships I have developed with customers all over the world. My husband jokes I run an international business. Thanks to Etsy, I do.

I prefer to work with natural stones. Mother Nature creates some pretty wonderful materials to work with. I have a soft spot for pearls and turquoise so I use those items quite a bit. I view stones like a new box of crayons...oh the possibilities.
