Our Soap Story
When I was 8 years old we went on a field trip to Sturbridge Village, an outdoor history museum, depicting early New England life. In one of the buildings there was a woman stirring a huge pot of soap, and they were talking about how they made soap with lye. I remember thinking how awesome that sounded….fast forward 20 years and here I am stirring lye into my own pot of soap.
I love hearing how soap I made with my own bare hands, has helped some of our customers with their sensitive skin. That they have tried everything but nothing has healed their skin like our soap. Closer to home I love the fact that I could help my own little boy. Since he was born he has dealt with rashes. The doctors could never figure out what was wrong or what was causing it. The only thing they would prescribe for him were steroid creams. When I started making our handmade soap and using it on my son, his rashes went away, never to come back again. Nothing feels better then being able to help your own baby.
Simple Traditions has allowed me to be a stay at home mom, while at the same time helping other people feel good about themselves and their skin.
