Filling minds, hearts, and lives with natural solutions to your everyday educational needs.
After some time teaching Jennifer saw what was working and what was not. She started her store after deciding that she would use a combination of Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia concepts in her home and educational routine with her boys. When her first son was an infant she went looking for organic toys that fit the bill. After looking and looking she decided that making them would be a fantastic way to help her channel her creative juices. That is how the idea to make organic toys was born.
After the toys a need for teethers and teething jewelry arose and she immediately knew she had to make them. Inspired by natural textures, patterns, and material along with a love for modern edgy fashion she started to make functional jewelry.
How does it all work? Jennifer uses a US supplier for our wood along with Etsy suppliers to furnish supplies. She uses only the highest quality Organic bees wax and Organic Olive oil to make the wood sealer. Careful focus has been put into the safety of each item made. The shop has not currently gone through the process of test for compliance with the consumer safety commission but we do try to follow their guidelines. Any safety warnings are clearly stated.
The process looks like this: Items that need to be cut or drilled are prepared. Each item is hand sanded to smooth out any imperfections. It is then washed and dried. Then dye or paint is applied if it is going to have color. After that each piece is hand rubbed with a mixture of organic beeswax and organic olive oil to seal the wood. Each piece is then polished by hand and wrapped in tissue paper for packaging. Every order is packaged in a muslin bag stamped with the store name and a gift tag is attached along with instructions on the items enclosed. Each item is made with love and enthusiasm for the development of young minds.
