Skulls of Honor began as a mission to restore pride to a symbol meant to honor service.
As a 25-year law enforcement veteran, I spent my career in every corner of Michigan. At a conference in August 2023, I handed out challenge coins and saw the disappointment on officers’ faces—the coins didn’t reflect the pride, sacrifice, or legacy of the men and women who carried them. That moment sparked a single question: How could I take the worst coin and make it the best?
That question led me into resin art and the creation of the first Skull of Honor. By embedding each challenge coin inside a handcrafted resin skull, I transformed something forgotten into a tribute worthy of a desk, a display, or a retirement gift. Every skull is made by hand in a meticulous 4-day process, combining precision, symbolism, and respect.
The 83 spent casings embedded in each Standard Skull represent the 83 counties I served throughout my career. For custom pieces, I tailor the number of casings to mark years of service, meaningful milestones, or unit traditions. Each skull is finished with the recipient’s badge number, the date of creation, and my personal signature—making every piece a one-of-one tribute.
In 2024, Skulls of Honor was officially trademarked, ensuring authenticity and preserving the meaning behind each piece. This work is more than art; it’s a dedication to the stories of service that deserve to be remembered. A portion of every sale is donated back to nonprofits that support law enforcement officers and their families.
