Frequently asked questions

Wholesale availability

Yes, many soaps are available for wholesale, please convo for details.

Sizing details

Approximate sizes of the soaps are listed within each soap listing, along with the approximate weights.

Can a scent be added?

Yes, almost all soaps are custom made, so fragrance can be added to the soap during casting, just leave a message during checkout! All fragrances are free, and the current list can be found in the shop announcement section.

What is the shelf-life of this soap?

Soap is meant to be used and enjoyed!

Unlike most of the soap available commercially, this soap has no extra preservatives, UV color stabilizers, etc. This soap is also a high glycerin, high water content soap. The soap itself, if kept away from moisture, will last a long time. However, over time colors change, the fragrance becomes weaker, and moisture can be absorbed from the air (especially of the soap is painted with mica).

Ideally, take the soap out of the plastic bag and use soap as soon as it arrives or within a few weeks (not months). This type of soap (especially the painted soaps) are not ideal for decorative use because the colors will change and will absorb moisture over time.

Can mica on the soap surface come off or change?

Yes, soap dusted with mica on the surface can come off. Rubbing against the cellophane bag can remove some of the mica. Mica will also wash off as the soap is used.

Mica on the surface (especially the gold mica) can also be affected by humidity, making the mica not as "shimmery" as moisture is absorbed.

Soaps should not be stored in the plastic bag, but taken out. These painted soaps should also be used within 1-2 weeks, as the mica will be absorbing moisture and this will affect the soap.

Can soap colors fade or migrate?

Yes, some colorants used are migrating colors (like red and pink), so will move into other soap layers over time. This is most noticeable in white or clear soap layers (when moving into dark colored layers the color migration is not as obvious). This is the nature of the colorant and the soap is still fine to use!

Many colorants will fade over time or when exposed to sunlight. This is the nature of the colorant and the soap is still fine to use!

How are the soaps packaged?

Soaps come packaged in a clear cellophane bag. Soaps are packaged by the set, so can contain multiple smaller soaps all in one bag. Some listings are unique, and will state how those soaps are packaged.

Anything else I should know?

There is plenty of information about fragrances, soap color fading, shipping costs, taxes, etc., that can be found in the shop's Announcement Section, so definitely read that as well!

Is this soap like most soap available in stores?

No. Unlike most of the soap available commercially, this soap has no extra preservatives, UV color stabilizers, etc. This soap is also a high glycerin, high water content soap, making the soap softer and not as drying to the skin; this is natural to this type of soap, and it is supposed to be this way! So over time, the soaps can change: fading to lighter colors, white soap changing to the color next to it (for two-tone soaps), fragrance leaving, colors becoming darker (many fragrances contain vanilla, which will darken in color over time). The soap is still fine to use, but it will begin to look different and that is natural.

How soon should I use the soap?

Unlike most of the soap available commercially, this soap has no extra preservatives, UV color stabilizers, etc. This soap is also a high glycerin, high water content soap. So over time, this soap will change color, lose its fragrance, and react to the moisture in the environment by either absorbing it along the surface of the soap, or the soap can dry out. In both situations, you might see droplets or little white dots on the surface of the soap. The droplets are water, and the white dots are dry pieces of glycerin from the soap. If this is a painted soap, this can happen faster.

Ideally, soap should be used as soon as possible. If this is for a gift, soaps should be purchased so they arrive fresh and close to the time of gifting.
