SlipNotHeadware....Headware for the Modern Girl
I learned how to sew when I was 6. My mom had a craft business at the time and made quilts and bears. I've always loved putting colors together and 'designing' new looks. I got my first sewing machine in 2001 and started making my oldest daughter dresses, curtains for the living room, decorative pillows etc. After my second daughter was born, life got too busy and my sewing machine was put away.
Fast forward 10 years...
I got out my sewing machine again when I discovered velvet was the answer I had been looking for. Until then, I never had a headband that worked for me. The hard ones stayed in, but gave me a headache and the fabric headbands slid out. Then for running headbands, I often found my headband in the street on my way home.
I started by making headbands for myself and my girls. When someone suggested opening a shop on Etsy, I took the plunge and opened on July 21, 2011. I am in constant awe of the success I've had over the past year and am so grateful for my customers and their continued support.
At first I only made headbands with ribbon but over the last year, my line has evolved to include fabric and flower headbands as well as custom headbands for running. ALL of my headbands have velvet underneath to prevent them from sliding out.
I absolutely LOVE my job. I get to spend time doing my favorite things such as sewing, creating and lets not forget shopping!
