About

Handmade Christmas ornaments

If you have found yourself here at Slothmas, I take it you are either a hardcore sloth-lover, an appreciator of needle-felted products, or simply a fan of Christmas. Like me, you may even be all three! Whatever your reasoning is, I am happy you are here.

My name is Claire Talbot and I am an artist living and working in Cincinnati, Ohio. I first came across the process of needle-felting during an internship with Homeadow Song Farm, an organic homestead in Cincinnati. At the homestead, children were taught needle-felting with the Waldorf philosophy in mind (link at the bottom). Although my products do not directly follow the Waldorf school of thought (with the exception of Shawn the Sheep), I have an appreciation for the philosophy and process.

One year, I decided that I wanted a sloth Christmas ornament for my tree. So I made one. After listing it on my Etsy store on a whim, I realized I wasn't the only one. Shortly after, my store turned into Slothmas!

I hope you enjoy my products as much as I enjoy creating them. Thoughts, questions, and reviews are encouraged.

Merry Slothmas!
